Hi, I’m Dana.
Dr. Dana Male is a Registered Clinical & Health Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She works part-time in private practice and part-time in public health, in the area of cancer care. In these roles, she enjoys the diversity of providing individual and couples therapy, facilitating groups and classes, and public speaking.
Dana is a strong believer in delivering evidence-based interventions. Her clinical practice is complemented by her active role in research and teaching (she is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary, School of Medicine, Department of Oncology).
Apart from being a Psychologist, Dana feels fulfilled by being active outdoors (camping, hiking, walking, running, skiing, soccer), spending time with friends and family, traveling, going to concerts, and continuing to learn and develop herself (reading, yoga, meditation).

My Style
My clients, colleagues, and loved ones describe me as well-rounded. I have been told that I have soft, gentle and warm qualities that help build a trusting connection, balanced by a tendency to also be direct, honest, and get results.
I am flexible and adapt my approach as needed. I will be supportive and help you slow down and stay with difficult yet important experiences that can otherwise be easily avoided or overlooked; and I will be encouraging, informative, and motivating when you want to make specific changes.
I stay attuned and sensitive to how things are unfolding and will regularly check in, with curiosity and collaboration, to make sure we are working together in a way that feels right for you.
